Olá!

I’m Kristen Hearrold! I am a graphic designer with rich experience in communications in media studies as well as philosophy. My passion lies in leveraging design to make a meaningful impact on community efforts at both the local and global levels. I believe that the best processes for promoting social change is through experiential learning and integrating habitual change. I am eager to use my diverse range of studies within collaborative endeavors that combine design principles and community-driven initiatives to foster meaningful change.

design + communications + philosophy

In my interdisciplinary studies, I seamlessly integrate my studies in graphic design, communications, and philosophy to produce meticulously crafted outcomes. With a focus on graphic design, I not only prioritize aesthetic appeal but also cultivate strategies and principles that foster meaningful impact. By drawing on my background in communications and philosophical inquiry, I enrich my designs with depth and resonance, ensuring they resonate with audiences on both visual and intellectual levels.

My Design Process

As an individual committed to growth and intellectual exploration, my primary emphasis lies in continuous learning and broadening my creative horizons. I value the time dedicated to classroom interactions, collaborating with peers, actively engaging with professors, and embracing meaningful encounters with anyone I’m fortunate enough to meet on the way.

My Design Process

Overall, I am deeply passionate about all realms of design and learning alike. Collaboration stands as a cornerstone in my approach to design work. Hence, actively participating in my community and ongoing education is not only immensely enjoyable but also enriching.

My design Process

As a designer engaged in community involvement on the RWU campus, I actively collaborated with leaders in the Graphic Design Department to holistically advance the program. As a member of the Design Collective — a group of work-study interns — I contributed to organizing events, executing creative initiatives, and managing social media platforms. Our mission was to foster a supportive and innovative environment for all design students, providing encouragement and guidance whenever possible.

My Design Process

I founded the Design Club on campus, aiming to cultivate an inclusive environment where students could freely exchange their passion and expertise for graphic design. As the club’s past president, I took on the responsibility of leading meetings, crafting agendas, maintaining impartiality, and fostering an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance, among other duties. This is a space where I ultimately thrived and felt my most fulfilled surrounded by only the best of attitudes!
